Chef Colin Competes on Beat Bobby Flay

Colin Smith, Chef-Owner of Reno-based Roundabout Catering & Party Rentals, Gym Rat and Caveman Meal Programs and Roundabout Grill inside the Whitney Peak Hotel, will attempt to put the smack down on Bobby Flay on Season 12 of Beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network.

Set to premiere on April 20th, Smith competes against kosher chef Alex Reznik for the battle of bragging rights. Iron Chef Michael Symon and legendary soap star Susan Lucci appear as guest judges on the show.

Smith attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and began his career as an apprentice in the kitchens of European chefs throughout the Bay Area. He went on to work in some notable restaurants such as Lippizaner, Duck Club, Saros, Danville Hotel and Stars. Smith moved to Reno in 1994 and has done catering, special events and restaurants ever since. He has been responsible for opening seven separate restaurants throughout the Reno-Tahoe area, including Roundabout Grill with his wife and business partner, MaryBeth Smith. The Smiths’ also own and operate Roundabout Catering & Party Rentals.

Smith is a mentor for the Pro Start Culinary program, a founding chef of the Big Chefs Big Gala event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, a member of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and the High Sierra Chefs Association.
