Roundabout Catering & Party Rentals Might Just Be Your Secret Weapon this Holiday Season

From Shelle Murach
Reno Moms Blog

I am not sure if you know this or not, but the holidays are coming. I know this because Target’s has morphed into a winter wonderland and I have started to get a lot of catalogues. Quick question, when did those Fruit of the Month gifts morph into a sock/bacon/candle of the Month gifts. And, is one holiday gift not enough, now I need to send them something monthly! Ok, hold on let me take a breath. Alright, I am better, let’s talk about food now.

So, a few weeks ago I was invited to a special open house with a few of the other Reno Mom Blog contributors and the local media at Roundabout Catering & Party Rentals. I think they might hold the key to a less stressful holiday season for Reno Moms.

We all want our holidays to be special, but let’s face it, the lists are getting longer this time of year. Between the presents for the kids, the parents, the teachers and the babysitter, why not give yourself a present. Plus, taking a few shortcuts is worth it when it preserves your sanity. That’s where Roundabout Catering comes in with their list of delicious solutions. They can cater a party for a 1,000, but they can also help you with appetizers for 10 or an open house dessert bar for 20. With a few days notice, the Roundabout team can put together some amazing trays or even entrees for your guests. They specialize in special occasions of any size and can deliver a party right to your door. There is no rule that says you have to make everything yourself this holiday season!

Have you perfected your kale Caesar, but not your roasted salmon? Do you need to step up your appetizers game, step away from the salsa and think about a gorgeous display of bruschetta, cheeses, and olives or some tater tots with the unexpected glamour of truffle oil? Or, how about a signature cocktail or a personal bartender for the night? Roundabout can help with all of this and more. Think about it for a second, you can host a party that you might be able to sit down and enjoy yourself at, no getting up to refill some bowl or chips or tray of pigs in a blanket. You can step away from the kitchen.

I need to pause and talk about Roundabout’s desserts: crème Brulee in demitasse cups, pecan bars with a shortbread crust, magic bars with chunks of chocolate and lots of moist coconut. And coffeecake, it is this amazing coffeecake topped with streusel and just the right amount of cinnamon, nutmeg, and blueberries. I wish I had a bite or two of it now to go with the coffee I am drinking.

Colin and MaryBeth Smith opened Roundabout Bistro in Somersett in 2007. As their reputation grew, so did their catering business, so in 2009, they decided to focus full time on their catering and event planning services. Today Roundabout Catering & Party Rentals offers catering, bartending, party rentals and event management services.

Their party rentals are amazing. It is way more than just some extra tables and folding chairs; they can design a look that would make Martha Stewart jealous. I am lucky if I have napkins at my dinner parties, most of the time it is some paper towels. They have everything you need to, well, look like a grown up throwing a dinner party. And don’t even talk to be about centerpieces! Imagine having someone come in and set a gorgeous table for you, so you for once have a chance to take a shower before the guests arrive.

This holiday season, gift yourself a gorgeous party from Roundabout Catering & Party Rentals. Then the next morning, enjoy some of that leftover coffeecake.

About Shelle Murach:
Shelle Murach has been an Aunt since 1985. She specializes in saying things like, “Should that child be doing that to her brother?” “Where did that juice box go?” “Can Aunt Shelle have some of your Cheez-its?” She is an expert at attending dance recitals, soccer games and ice skating competitions all while clapping or cheering at the appropriate moments. While she is very good at passing out cake at birthday parties, due to an unfortunate incident with a stick, her husband has made her promise to never again help with piñatas. Something about lawsuits and personal injury nonsense. She precariously balances being a full-time Aunt with a career in PR and has found that many of her client management skills can also be used on her various nieces and nephews. She is very excited to be part of Reno Mom’s Blog where she will focus on the Reno food and events scene, booster seats and face paint are optional. You can check out her blog at Care & Feeding in Reno, where she desperately needs to post some new stories and recipes. Trust me, she knows, it is on the list.
