Roundabout Acquires Tannenbaum Event Center

Roundabout Catering & Party Rentals, the area’s most comprehensive resource for special events, has purchased Tannenbaum Events Center.

MaryBeth Smith, owner of Roundabout Catering & Party Rentals and Roundabout Grill inside the Whitney Peak Hotel in downtown Reno, had been searching for a venue for a couple of years. “It was getting harder to have more events without a venue to call our own,” said Smith. “Tannenbaum by Roundabout adds an important piece to Roundabout’s portfolio of catering, rentals and dining.” Roundabout will continue to provide catering services for other venues in the area, as well as catering for private parties and corporate locations.

Tannenbaum by Roundabout is approximately 3,200 square feet and is located at 20007 Mount Rose Hwy in Reno. Refreshes and updates are in the plan for the next year, with the Smiths focusing on delivering quality cuisine and excellent client service, while upholding Roundabout’s longstanding reputation for the past 11 years. Future plans include outdoor patio updates, kitchen enhancements and landscaping, and upgrades to the wedding suites. Roundabout will welcome all types of events such as corporate parties, special occasions and weddings.

“The food will be a continuation of the high quality, straightforward approach we achieve in all of the venues we cater for,” said chef Colin Smith. “I am looking forward to the seasonal changes we will offer our clients, that will accent the Alpine location. I want winter dishes to give you a great big hug and bring you home, and our summer dishes to be light, crisp and seasonal with bright colors and flavors.” Pop-up events, such as a tribute to the Christmas Tree restaurant featuring mahogany steaks, are new ideas that the team will bring to the table.

An agreement with Blend Catering will allow for currently booked parties to continue working with the Blend team. “Blend has their current events, but also, brides will continue to have the option to chose catering that is best fits their needs,” said MaryBeth Smith.

Julie Nobis will continue as the catering & event coordinator for next year. Beth Bach, director of catering & sales, will lead the team at Tannenbaum by Roundabout.

“This acquisition will allow us to complement our partnership with Whitney Peak Hotel, and work with their team on new offerings such as hotel packages, and hosting bridal events like rehearsal dinners and post-wedding brunches at Roundabout Grill,” said MaryBeth Smith. “We have terrific partners and vendors, and our new Tannenbaum clients will see what we are capable of in delivering quality catering with a Chef’s vision, a wide array of party rental options and an expert team to work with.”

In addition to Roundabout Catering and Roundabout Grill, Roundabout offers science- based and chef-inspired clean eating meal programs – Gym Rat, Caveman Cuisine and Chef Doc RX – tailored for healthy conscious individuals. Roundabout has developed a school lunch program servicing several schools in the region. Local renowned Chef Colin Smith leads the menu creation at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport Escape Lounge by MAG USA. Roundabout is the caterer of choice for many corporate clients including Tesla, Renown Health, Dermody Properties, Dickson Realty, Tahoe Fund, Keep Tahoe Blue and more.
