If you’ve been volunteered by someone else in your office to head up the holiday party and have no idea where to start keep reading. Sure, you can go the route that everyone goes and book the same old sports bar where you always go. Or you can let Roundabout host your event and create a one-of-a-kind party where you’ll go down in office history! We’re known for our party rentals and catering in Reno and can make you next event truly unforgettable.

Holiday parties should be a time to relax a bit and get to know your peers on more of a personal level. And while we hope you have a great time at your party this year, if you’re stressing out, we’ve got a few tips that may just help you breathe a little easier and enjoy everyone’s company.

Elephants may never forget, but humans do!

You spend a lot of time at your cube farm. You know everyone around you and their cat’s names too. But if it’s been a while since you’ve seen the upper echelons of the company, brush up on their names and titles. See if you can find out who’s going to be there so you’ll know ahead of time. If you find yourself forgetting someone’s name though, don’t panic. If you focus on just being yourself and being honest, you’ll come across as more genuine.

Should I put the lampshade on my head?

No. We do not recommend putting the lampshade on your head or being a wallflower, but we do suggest talking and mingling. Move around the room and keep the conversations light. If you’re not sure what to talk about, remember that people love talking about themselves so ask them about music or hobbies. And try to avoid topics on politics or religion. Everyone has their own opinions when it comes to these things and the point of office parties is to bring people together, not put a wedge between them. Talking shop is generally okay, but don’t gossip. Keep it short and to a point.
