2019 Wedding Trends We All Want to Know About
By Christy McDougal, Manager, Tannenbaum Events Center
With 2019 in full swing, we wanted to get our favorite local partners together to talk about new wedding trends offered in in the Reno-Tahoe area. This is an exciting collection of new ideas and older ideas that are back in style.
Bridal’s Return to Simple, Classic Beauty
“Less is more. We are seeing brides who want clean and chic. The look packs a punch for sure—when you have a beautiful cut and fabric, you just don’t need anything else. Bonus, this look will age well. It’s strong and timeless.” – Michelle Depoali, Owner of Swoon Bridal
Sky’s the Limit
Heavy long garlands are starting to fade away, and are being replaced by centerpieces lifted several feet over your table and hanging florals to free up space for family style meals and candles.
“2019 will continue to bring the outdoors in, with this year emphasizing a less is more approach. The floral should have a look that that it’s just been picked, leaving behind the heavier over the top approach.” – Kelly Lopeman, Owner of A Floral Affair
Digital Photo Booths
“What we’ve seen with photo booths is that they are almost expected at weddings now, the same way that a DJ is expected to be there. The instant access on your phone to be able to share in the moment and view all the photos in one spot is just a great feature. And the light rings make you look fantastic and creates a huge impact.”
Looking for a way to spice up an empty space or add some texture to a blank wall without adding compromising your budget? May I present to you party balloons, version 2019.
“Balloons fill space, create movement and add texture. Using them in your wedding is adding art specially curated with your custom colors to reflect the mood you want to create. Balloons draped over an arch, lining tables or greeting your friends and family will be just that extra touch you were looking for.” – Courtney Wallace, Balloons by Court
“Vellum, clean type and organic hand torn paper are highlighted in 2019 trends for wedding stationary. Layers in the stationary suite to provide dimension and texture is going to be huge this year.” – Sommer Elston, Owner of Pretty Little Paper Co

“More and more couples are looking to do late night snacks to close out the day’s festivities. It adds a fun surprise for your guests at the end of the night that they will absolutely love.” – Beth McBride, Roundabout Catering
